The Hornady® Superformance® .17 Hornet 20 Grain Varmint Centerfire Rifle Ammo combines powders to specific cartridges and bullet-types for increased velocitoes—by as much as 200 fps—without increasing pressure or recoil. The added velocity flattens trajectory and increases foot pounds of energy, which in turn increase your odds of clean kills at extended ranges.

17 Hornet Hornady is loaded with either lead-core V-MAX® or lead-free NTX® bullets. Both bullet types feature polymer tips and streamline profiles with high ballistic coefficients that flatten trajectory and reduce wind drift, making them highly effective for long-range shooting. Upon impact, the polymer tip pushes back into the core to deliver dramatic expansion on light-skinned varmints and predators, over a wide range of distances and velocities. Concentric, AMP® bullet jackets produce match-grade accuracy. Hornady Superformance Varmint Centerfire Rifle Ammo develops pressures safely within SAAMI guidelines, and is compatible with gas operated, semi-auto firearms with 20″ barrels or longer, or with shorter-barreled semi-autos using adjustable gas systems.
